Shigeru SATO (Oita Prefecture School Children Badminton Federation Chairman)
As players who are going to go on to the ABC tournament finals still have time before it starts, I hope they aren’t satisfied with their present achievements and keep practicing even more to aim for the higher level.
There was a festive atmosphere at the tournament compared to before, thanks to the cooperation from Daihatsu. The players’ strong will to go on to the national tournament also reached the audience through their play.
I would like to keep working on effective training to strengthen the players so that they can raise their level.
- All the players were very energetic, and we witnessed the elementary school players played many heated games that could even put adults to shame. We were touched by the sight of players shedding tears of disappointment when they lost their matches. We were also very impressed by the intense support from the families and players, using balloons that were handed out. We distributed drinks and balloons for the past 2 days and we would like to continue our support for the ABC Badminton National Primary School Tournament in the future.
