Masanori YAMAZAKI (Hiroshima Prefecture School Children Badminton Federation Chairman)
Only the winners of the prefectural qualifying rounds get to participate in the ABC tournament so it is a tough battle. You can hear the players say that they are happy, relieved or frustrated. Although they are rivals, they are also fellow badminton players, so it was heartwarming to see them cheerfully chatting with each other.
The role of the federation is to send stronger children to the national tournament, but in order to do so we need to popularize and spread badminton among more and more children while discovering new talent.

This was the 2nd time we carried out our supporting activities, and we always look forward to meeting the energetic players every year.
They put so much effort into writing messages to the Japanese national players, while we also took many photos of their smiling faces. We were surprised to see their faces change to a focused gaze when they played their matches.
It pleased us to see them using the provided goods to cheer for the matches.
We want to keep supporting the children’s badminton dreams.
