Shinichi YAMASHITA (Yamaguchi Prefecture School Children Badminton Federation Chairman)
Our motto as a federation is for the children to have fun, be strong and have good manners. We strive to develop players with ability as well as a good sense of morality. We hope to transmit this to the national tournament.
The level of the players is rising every year, so we hope they achieve a high rank at the national tournament as well.
Also, we believe that the tournament has gained more recognition thanks to the support from Daihatsu, while there seened to be more cheering squads as well.
- It was a great experience to take part in the sponsor activities for these qualifying rounds. We experienced the passion of the tournament players from up close, so although we were in the role of supporters it was actually us who gained energy from them. It really left an impression on us to see the cheerful smiling faces of the primary students during the photo shoot at the collection corner for supporting message to the Japanese national players. We hope they can continue to develop a healthy body and mind through badminton. Lastly we hope that the Yamaguchi prefecture representative players can perform well at the national tournament.
